We hired M.E. to install a fiberglass pool in our back yard as well as to do a full landscape overhaul of our front and rear yards. Along with providing valuable input on the overall design, M.E. did a superb job of installing the pool, creating front and rear garden beds, sourcing and planting trees as well as installing front and rear walkways and lounge areas using interlock tiles. The project started on May 30th and was completed by the 2nd week of July. The guys at M.E., including Daryl, Mike, Blake, Dean, Garrett and the rest of the gang, did a fabulous job of completing all aspects of the project beautifully, cleanly and on schedule.Kudos to Eitan and Karen for being personally involved and for assembling such a great team. We hired M.E. Contracting, after meeting with various other pool companies to do our backyard. Our backyard is a bit complex, due to the slope of the property, and we wanted to make sure we hired the right company, with the right skills.

We ultimately decided to go with M.E. Contracting after reading the reviews on Houzz and meeting with the owners and one of their project managers, Daryl. They made us confident that they would show up on time, follow through on promises, and deliver what they promised.

From start to finish, they were with us every step of the way. More importantly, and this is something to be seriously considered, is the after-installation service. Once they are done, they don't forget about you. When it came to minor deficiencies, they returned called and made the necessary repairs. They truly back their work.

They are not inexpensive, but if you think it is expensive hiring professionals, try hiring amateurs.

I hired ME through a referral because I was told they are very professional, attentive and produce quality work. We had our front yard leveled and paved & backyard completely renovated which included a pool with spa, pergola, custom outdoor kitchen. The guys did a great job. They were organized and thorough. Our backyard looks nothing like it did from before. The space is now clean, less cluttered with a weed-filled lawn and old playset. The whole job from start to finish was about a month and a half. Each crew was very professional and hard working. ME Contracting guided me through the process of building my new carport, from drawings to permitting to completion. ME (Daryl) provided all of the support needed and ensured all work was done as specified. Project included new paving stone driveway, garden retaining walls, wood fence, wood gate and shed. The work was very professionally completed. A few design glitches were fixed by the Company promptly upon request. Site clean up was excellent. Expensive, but very high quality. Nice people.

We hired ME Contracting in July 2021 for a full Backyard Renovation. Our Fibreglass pool was in ground November 2021 and we were swimming June 2022 as promised. This quick timeline speaks for itself in the height of a pandemic. We had at least five, if not more, quotes from different and highly reputable landscape contractors in Toronto that summer. While the prices were all comparable, the Project Manager Daryl @ ME was the star of the show. From the first meeting onsite to today (6 months after the job has been completed), Daryl was extremely responsive, helpful and quick to address any questions and concerns we had. We did not use their in-house architect but designed most of the space based on our own vision. Daryl was very accommodating recognizing we lacked experience knowledge and were constantly changing our minds and the plans. We also worked at times with Eitan (particularly when Daryl was away) and made some good game-time decisions like extending our deck based on his advice. Overall, any issues that did arise or concerns we had through the process were acknowledged and addressed efficiently. While Daryl was the main reason we signed on the dotted line, there were many other advantages offered by ME, that other contractors did not possess. MEs initial quote was fully transparent without any aspects left TBD. At no point did we find hidden fees or adjustments to the price even though it was clear during the pandemic the cost of materials and labour were rising. This speaks to their integrity. They honoured their commitment to us. The vast majority of the work was done by their teams rather than subcontractors which greatly sped up the process and, in our opinion, improved accountability. Their showroom was fantastic in helping us choose our finishes and visualize different aspects of the build (ie. the pergola, fencing, stone, decking). The entire team that worked on our backyard was fantastic, extremely polite and respectful. Blakes crew (Claude, Garret, Bobby) were phenomenal and were able to get most of the landscaping and fencing done before the winter. Stefan and Cleos crew built our deck and the pergola working around some near record snowfall in the winter. Casey was a gem at the start and end of the project cleaning up and loose ends. Our neighbours made some requests at the end regarding the fencing and Daryl and Casey were very quick to accommodate them. Finally. Freddy did a fantastic job during pool installation, providing a clean equipment setup and maintenance through the summer. Our overall experience was excellent, and the final result speaks for itself. If given the choice, we would choose ME contracting again and have no hesitation referring them to our friends. We were looking to install a backyard deck and received quotes from 5 different companies. Daryl came to our house and reviewed our requirements, while also making recommendations for things we hadnt thought of (all of which we took!). We chose M.E. because while not the cheapest, they provided the most detailed estimate which made us confident there would be no hidden extras. This company is very overrated. I am a detail oriented customer that has high standards and good knowledge. I have fully renovated a house and manage properties for a living. My project was completed, but the process and end result could have been better. They completed the landscaping throughout my entire property after we did a major house renovation.

I received nine different quotes prior to choosing M.E. The company was chosen because Daryl is good at responding to emails/calls and communicating/answering our questions. As well, the price was reasonable (relatively speaking). It was also a bonus that they were able to complete large parts of the job in the winter.

However, my relatively straightforward project was plagued with deficiencies throughout the entire process. The main reason this occurred was a lack of direct supervision and communication from management/supervisor to employees. This meant I needed to be quite involved in providing direction and calling out mistakes. A few examples of issues that should not have occurred, (all issues I had to find and were never caught by a supervisor)…

1) They almost installed the wrong polymeric sand, and then once they had the correct colour, they didn’t set it correctly so it all had to be re-done.

2) They didn’t install the correct curb stones/wall. I challenged them on this and they assured me it was the correct stone. It didn’t look correct to us, so I had to drive and hour away to where the stone was purchased. The stone yard confirmed we had the wrong stone. So begrudgingly Daryl had the wall taken out and reinstalled with the correct stone.

3) After giving explicit instructions to a supervisor as to the location of a fence post, they still installed it too close to my garage making siding replacement impossible.

4) They delivered the wrong gate three times.

5) The interlock had persistent settling issues throughout the spring/summer.

6) My concrete pad was poorly finished, and even after providing feedback as to what needed to be fixed, the installer gave up on trying to fix it.

7) They failed to correctly prepare the ground prior to laying sod, so the grass has struggled to grow evenly.

To their credit, all the easily fixable issues were dealt with eventually. However, it always required work and patience on my end.

Overall, we are relatively happy with the end result. Due to the state of the construction industry in the city, sadly this is probably the best you can ask for.

We cannot say enough about this amazing company! We hired M.E. contracting for the complete demolition of a fully landscaped yard, installation of a fiberglass pool, new stone pool deck, irrigation system, lighting, and shed. From it's inception, the project was well run - Daryl was our project manager - he is excellent, professional, and delivers exactly what he says he will. Eitan (the owner) and Casey were phenomenal as well and onsite when the pool arrived and assisted in its instillation. Mike and his team completed the stonework, lighting, and irrigation in record time and kept the site and our street clean and orderly for the neighbors. Freddy and his pool team did an excellent job with the pool education and cleaning, and helping us navigate the automated system. Next the carpenter Alex was the most precise and careful carpenter we've ever had - the shed is exquisite. Finally, their electrical team (Dean and colleagues) were polite, efficient and helpful in every way. My husband and I have done several large renovations and have never had things go smoothly, with appropriate timing and professionalism. The did a truly incredible job! You won't regret going with them for your project!

Daryl inherited our project after our original project manager left the firm. It took close to a year to complete our project but we were kept informed throughout as we all lived through COVID. We committed to our project just as COVID was ramping up and then when things settled down a bit last summer the colour of composite decking we wanted was sold out which required a wait until late in the year for completion of the deck. Construction mostly shut down during December, January and February although the team were by to measure for the railings and pergola structure. Everything was completed this spring and we are very happy with our new deck and pergola. we found ME Contracting through Homestars and we weren't disappointed.

Working with ME Contracting from start to finish was a positive experience. Daryl was the project manager for our job, and he was very responsive, had great communication, was respectful and understanding. When we encountered issues with a few crews (not from ME Contracting), Daryl and Keren (the owner) we’re very caring and compassionate of the situation. Keren came to our house a few times to ensure everything was ok, and she even gave us and our kids a few gifts as a token of appreciation. If there were any high points of the COVID 19-year 2020 year for us, it was our decision to retain M.E. Contracting for our backyard landscaping renovation. From beginning to end this group of highly skilled professionals transformed our backyard into something that we can be very proud of. The process has been seamless, from the initial stage when our landscape designer submitted plans to several companies for comparative pricing to the project completion. M.E. Contracting responded in a timely fashion with a most reasonable estimate, which was competitive and well detailed. Our interactions with Eitan, the owner of M.E. Contracting, and Daryl, our Project Manager have been very positive in all respects. Pre-construction, we were invited to visit the beautiful showroom of M.E. Contracting, where we met Eitan, looked at samples of PVC deck colours and paver stones, and had an opportunity to discuss various product options. Nothing was too much trouble for this company.

All onsite team members involved with our project, specifically; demolition, removal and replacement of our old deck to PVC, preparing and planting our new gardens, constructing the hole, retaining wall and cement base for a large inground swim spa/pool, and construction of the paved portion for a beautiful patio were hard working, professional and obviously seasoned trades people. Due to delays in the arrival of our pool (from a separate supplier) caused by the COVID pandemic, M.E. Contracting went above and beyond to make the renovation fit our schedule. At the end of each phase of the project everything was left tidy and safe for people to access the area. Daryl was always available and often on-site providing direction and input when required.

M.E. Contracting invoicing was appropriately spaced and always accurate, fair and detailed. There were never any surprises.

We starting speaking with Eitan from ME contracting when COVID hit and camps were closed. We had contemplated a pool but the new reality made the decision. Eitan came right away for a site visit and offered expert opinion on pool sizing and placement. We then visited his amazing showroom to look at the pool, choose colors, see turf options and more. We had built a deck two years prior and Eitan designed within those constraints and made thoughtful recommendations to maximize space and sun exposure. While waiting for the pool to arrive Eitan made multiple visits to our house to answer questions, advise re: tree pruning, privacy planting, lighting, firepit and stone. He guided us on where our money was best spent. Eitan’s team (Brenda and Daryl) helped with the city permit submission and gave advice on following up to ensure it was in place. Brenda was diligent on following up with the pool distributor ok delivery timing. Once the pool arrived the team hit the ground running. Within three weeks the backyard was 90% done and they worked even on the weekend so we could take advantage of a hot day at the end of September for an early birthday party for our son! Eitan was on the job almost every day and his team including landscape supervisor Blake, electrician Dean and pool maintenance expert Freddy were reliable, accessible and easy to work with. Eitan and his team did not leave the project until all finishing details were done and we were completely satisfied!

Beautiful new patio built into dug-out slopping grass yard, with stone slabs and natural rock retaining wall/steps to upper grass yard/gardens, including new lighting and window well walls around house. Team was very efficient and hard wording, getting the project done in just over 1 week. Very courteous and accommodating to a few on-the-fly modifications to project/design. Excellent oversight/availability of Project Manager, including frequent site visits and catch-ups with team foreman. Would highly recommend ME Contracting.

Our backyard needed a complete overhaul after 12 years in our house with very little use of the backyard. Eitan took the lead from ME Contracting and helped us design and then execute an amazing transformation. Sportcourt, shed, patio, deck, hot tub and artificial grass. We've spent more time in the backyard this summer than in the previous 12 years combined. Budget was adhered to as was timeline and work was not just done, but well done. Eitan worked with us as small (and some large) changes were made by us midway through the project. These guys are top notch.

We called ME Contracting after finding them here on Homestars. Their reviews were quite impressive. Our backyard was in dire need of attention and redesign. With two very young children in the family, the yard was unsafe.

We met initially with Steve Peacock who provided us with a quote. From there he worked with us to get the quote to a place where we felt comfortable to pull the trigger on the job.

COVID-19 hit and the job was put off due to the uncertainty of the economic environment. Once deemed essential, Steve reached out to us and told us that they could comfortably begin the job. He always assured us that our family would be safe. Our deadline was very important to us as we had a baby coming on July 6th. Not only was the job done well, within budget and the outcome looks incredible, but it was also finished on time! We truly could not believe it as most jobs take way longer than expected.

We loved working with Steve who became our trusted friend during this job. ME Lansdscaping is a company that I would refer to anyone, anytime. We had a very positive experience from start to finish and our backyard is truly spectacular.

I contacted ME contracting based on online reviews. We had a multi-level deck, cabana, patio, planting and lighting completed. In addition, we had our front porch redone with stone. Daryl was our project manager and was fantastic to work with during the project. He was easy to work with, communicated time lines well and addressed any concerns fairly quickly. We hired M.E. Contracting to redo our driveway, the front and side walks, the front porch and to remove an old deck in the backyard and replace with a patio and two small decks. We simply couldn't be happier with the entire project. Unbelievable . The contractor came by to look at the cracks in my driveway. Turned out the sealant would be enough. He did the job on the spot since he had the materials and it was a perfect day. He was careful and did a superb job and was reasonably priced. You can't go wrong with him. 10 Stars all the way.

The project involved removing the existing raised bed railway ties and interlocking walkway and replacing it with new 6"x6" wood retaining walls and supplying a new front walkway all without damaging the existing tree in the raised bed area. New steps were built, some plants were relocated or removed as required. The work was completed on schedule without any inconvenience to neighbors. The site was always left clean and tidy. The crew were experienced, thoughtful and made good recommendations that enhanced the final outcome. I would definitely recommend the company to friends and neighbors.

We hired ME to finalize the stone path, fence and regrade of our backyard. Their attention to detail was great and their crews were amazing (and nice), the craftsmanship was on-point and they offered great design and material advice to bring out backyard to life. We could not be more happy with our patio and deck renovations. M. E. Contracting staff spent considerable time discussing options and developing detailed layouts with us. The M.E team worked with me to make sure everything was what we discussed. I had a very positive experience working with ME Contracting earlier this year. Daryl, Blake and their crew built a brick patio and constructed new fencing and gates in my rear yard. The job was complicated by the garden, which is mature and required care and caution to work around. The crew was mindful of the plants (some did get destroyed) and delivered a high quality of work on the patio and fencing. One of the gate locks came loose shortly after the job was finished, and the crew came out right away to fix it. Everyone I dealt with was very pleasant and helpful. I would certainly recommend them to others.

About 5 years ago, we hired ME Contracting to do our backyard. We were thrilled with the job they did, so when it came time to deal with the front of our house, (small East York property), we knew who to call.

Daryl came by, listened to what we wanted in the design and in the selection of plants, and quickly came back with a sketch and estimate. We then worked together to refine the ideas and plan for a Spring start.

The bulk of the job took two days, with an additional day for the four planters to be installed and planted. The team doing the work on site were efficient, thorough, kind, and very respectful of our property, as well as our neighbours, and the plants selected for us are so much better than we could have come up with ourselves.

We wouldn't hesitate to use them again, and have had several neighbours go out of their way to compliment the work and ask who our contractor was. There is no hesitation in telling them it's M.E. Contracting.

M.E. was a delight to deal with. She was able to come up with a wonderful design that enhances some unusual small pieces of land that we have in front of our house. She listened to what we wanted in terms of the type of look and low maintenance and then designed a very creative and attractive plan that far exceeded our expectations, yet fit within our budget. The result was a very attractive garden with additional flourishes like trellises and large planter urns that enhanced our front entrance. Ann is very hands on and was there for the plantings by her crew. Her crew were very polite and cleaned the area after they were done. Anne was excellent with follow-up, including promptly replacing one planting that had died from shock, We would highly recommend this company.

M.E. Contracting completed a deck, patio and backyard renovation project for us this past Summer.

We were apprehensive about the job done being properly as the deck was going to be glass and steel and substantially elevated.

We contacted a good number of landscaping and decking companies. A number of decking companies declined the project as the height , and materials of the deck were beyond the scope and experience of what they had done, and several were outrageously expensive.

We dealt with Daryl , who project managed and went through in detail the planning scope and execution of the work. He was not fixed on his ideas and open to what WE wanted.

The work was done according to plan , and executed really well.

The whole team Daryl , Blake , Claudio, Simone and everyone on site was very professional , respectful and open.

The communication at all stages was excellent . There was very little chasing around and anticipated delays were communicated well in advance.

They did a great job and we would highly recommend them.

We recently had an extensive multi-phase project done by ME Contracting, which included grading, asphalt driveway, paver patio and sidewalks, concrete planters and address wall, and a steel and glass staircase and railings.

We were very pleased with Daryl’s management of the project. He has a solid knowledge of landscape construction that enabled him to come up with creative solutions, and we liked his collaborative, customer-focused approach and positive ‘can-do’ attitude. He always gave us the straight facts, which helped to build a good working relationship throughout the job.

We are absolutely thrilled with the glass and steel staircase and railings that Kaz built. He is a skilled craftsman and very meticulous. If we were reviewing this alone, we would give ME 11 out of 10 stars.

The true test of a company though is not just the quality of work, but how they handle issues. Keren kept tabs on the project, and when a couple of glitches occurred, Keren addressed these and made sure that we were ultimately satisfied with the results.

Daryl, Blake and their team installed a timber retaining wall, gravel and some pavers to service the sunken entry to our half basement. It was a challenging job, with very hard clay soil and a good deal of grading. The team did a great job. They listened to our direction and were flexible towards our design, even when it meant more work for them. We had a great experience with ME and would recommend highly.

What a fantastic company. Daryl has chosen the best for sub-contracting, in this case Living Construction. Tomer and John (and others) did a fantastic job, demolishing a deck, building another, and landscaping the front. All In 2 1/2 weeks as promised. Started on time and did not go away to other jobs during this one. Daryl, Tomer and John listened to us, and never complained when asked for a few little extras. Professional work all-round - for example, we had a 4x4 hole in the basement wall (an old coal entry) which we expected just to be covered with plywood again. No - Tomer went off to get concrete blocks and made a solid wall - no extra charge. Everything around the deck and the front foundation was well sealed. So many professional touches. And they really worked hard, some days 7 to 6, 20 min. for lunch. The payment schedule was great - Some to begin, some along the way, hold back some at end to make sure everything was done (and they willingly came back to fix a few little things). The reason i am giving so much detail is that this is unusual for construction companies. Great job - company highly recommended!!

After getting several quotes for our backyard renovation and meeting with Daryl several times, we decided to go with ME Contracting to complete our backyard renovation. It was one of the best decisions we made.

Daryl was present every step of the way, and made sure we were happy with every day that passed. He made sure that the workers were doing their job accurately and with detail. . Over many years, ive worked with contractors who didnt do what they said they would, never returned to complete something, and rarely showed up when they said they would. Not with ME Contracting. they did what they said they would, showed up when they said they would, and did exactly what we discussed. At one point i did not take Daryl's advice and wanted something to be done my way. They did it my way. I wasnt happy the way it looked, and without any hesitation, any resistance and without any additional cost, they ripped it down and redid it the way Daryl initially proposed. Just one example of unreal service and professionalism.
